One of our members Yanagida takes part in the Initiative-based Project of Research Institute for Humanity and Nature,
“Creation and Sustainable Governance of New Commons through Formation of Integrated Local Environment Knowledge(ILEK project)”.
A plenary session of ILEK Project was held at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida, USA.
Yanagida attended it and gave a presentation on INO's activities at its Public Forum.
And also, he made observations and inspections of marine protected areas, and the latest techniques and studies in coral multiplication, and learned about them.
We will make good use of his experience there.

We took part in the food -education project of Okinawa prefecture.
One of our members talked about close relationship between food, nature and the environment, through introducing his experience of cultivating “Mozuku” - a kind of sea vegetable which is edible and good-, at Koza public junior high school in Okinawa city.

From the end of June to July 1, 2010
We cooperated in providing fishing-related experience as a part of occupational curriculum for three students of Koza public junior high school in Okinawa city.
In the course, they studied, practiced cleaning bottom of the boat, observed transplanted coral, and experienced pole-and-line fishing.
They learned the reality and the problems of marine environment, and they also learned how we had taken care of those issues and what we had achieved.
We hope that they will communicate the importance of marine blessings and resources, to their friends and other people.
